Labor Day was always the end of summer when I was growing up, that last hurrah with school starting the next day! Family getting together, too much food and playing with the cousins usually in some sort of water activity, pool, ocean, sprinklers until our toes wrinkled and the sun went down.
“Sigh… there goes another summer, Snoopy!” – Charlie Brown
Ahhh the warmest days of the year are winding down, by the end of August, everything gets a little slowed down. You’ve been to the beach, you’ve gotten tan, you’ve barbecued everything you can think of, you ate too many s’mores and hopefully you have had some vacation days that filled your cup. Summer doesn’t come back for, like, a year, thinking like that it always makes it a little bittersweet. But y’all I can’t stop looking at the weather app hoping to see temps dropping below 80…well we will take below 90 right now– let’s just start sweater and pumpkin season already! And I don’t know about you but pumpkin spice anything does not taste the same with shorts on. I’m ready for soup season and cool morning devotions wrapped in a blanket while my hands warm around my hot coffee mug. I’ll attempt to nudge fall closer by decorating my house with pumpkins and burning my apple spice candle while I wait. Fall is my favorite time of year, even in Texas where the trees turn much quicker, I love the weather, football, pumpkin anything and family gatherings and I love that it means I will see so many customers. Because lets face it fall is to photographers what spring is to accountants. Everyone wants Christmas card pics and family sessions, I honestly can’t wait to see everyone again this year, it fills my cup and brings me so much joy to capture these special moments for you!
“To say it was a beautiful day would not begin to explain it. It was that day when the end of summer intersects perfectly with the start of fall.” – Ann PatchettI
Calendar is filling up for fall so reach out to me so I can hold you a spot on my calendar before I get booked. Until then enjoy these photos of our last days of summer, Labor Day with my big, crazy, fun family!
